with Rhodes Bezuidenhout
Big 5 Trails Guide Rhodes Bezuidenhout established Shangani Trails in 2010 to share his intimate knowledge and experience of the untamed Makuleke Concession, Northern Kruger National Park Pafuri area.
The 24000ha Makuleke Concession is well known for its diversity of landscape, including the Limpopo River floodplains, Fever Tree forests, huge Baobabs and imposing sandstone ridgelines with breathtaking vistas of the vast terrain. Apart from the presence of the Big 5 and the abundance of plains game, the Makuleke is well known for its prolific birdlife with some rare species. Looking and discussing the little and the big things, Rhodes brings to life the incredible world of pure nature.
Two unfenced tented camps along the picturesque Luvuvhu River, sleeping only 8 people at a time, provide the ambience of a true personal ‘African Safari’. Wilderness Backpack Trails are also offered, sleeping out under the stars for between 3-5 nights walking with your life on your back, not crossing a road for days on end and totally immersing oneself into the bush.
